Truck with Panzer II Suspension

Photo from Tech Intell Volume I

A total of four German heavy trucks with Panzer II suspension were discovered by the U.S. Army during the European campaign during World War II. The intelligence report indicates that the suspension is from a Panzer II Ausf. F. It is clear, however, that the drive sprocket and idler wheel do not come from a Panzer II Ausf. F, although the track does look standard. No mention is made of what purpose these vehicles served, nor what truck served as the basis for the conversion (most likely a heavy Mercedes truck).
