Wheeled Armored Vehicles

Including Armored Cars

While tracked vehicles came into their own during World War II, numerous wheeled vehicles were employed by all combatants in a variety of roles. The Germans made extensive use of armored cars for reconnaissance purposes, especially early in the war. Later in the war, several advanced armored cars and other special purpose wheeled vehicles were built.
